In the Visual Arts studio, artists with and without disabilities work side by side every day as peer creators. All of our staff are practicing artists, and we think of the studio as a place for both collaborative and individually driven projects.

In the main studio, artists work in a range of two- and three-dimensional forms, from painting, drawing, and comics to sculpture. In 2019 we opened fibers and ceramics studios.

A day in the studio can include critique, artist-led workshops, and self-guided research. We also collaborate with visiting artists. Past collaborators have included Wing Young Huie, Beth Graczyk, and Xavier Tavera.

We regularly take research trips to local arts institutions, sculpture parks, and artist studios to keep up with contemporary art and art history.
